Sykes join a new corporate membership programme developed by Coram’s Fields, our charity partner.

Sykes & Son are delighted to announce that we are a Founder Member of Connecting Futures, a brand new corporate membership programme developed by Coram’s Fields, our charity partner.

Coram’s Fields is a registered charity in Camden providing services including a Nursery, Out of School Club, Under 5’s Drop-In and free Youth and Sports Programmes. Their seven-acre park, including football pitches and a basketball court, is an essential community hub where children and young people feel safe and at home. Their facilities and services are a lifeline for thousands of families across our local community, where four in ten children live in poverty.

We have been supporting Coram’s Fields as our Charity of the Year, and we have really enjoyed getting stuck into fundraising and taking on pro bono projects to support the local community. We’re now looking forward to strengthening our relationship.

Connecting Futures is for organisations wanting to contribute to the futures of children and young people in central London. Our commitment will provide young people with safe spaces where they can build meaningful relationships and improve their wellbeing. We’ll be working with the team at Coram’s Fields to help young people broaden their horizons and improve their employment prospects.

“Like Coram’s Fields, Sykes & Son Limited have strong connections with the past but with a focus on the future – whether that is building lives or building a business. Thomas Coram established his Foundling Hospital in 1739 twenty years before our own business was formed a mile down the road in Essex Street. Now that we have moved into Bloomsbury, we find ourselves as near neighbours of Coram’s Fields and look to build a strong relationship and bring practical support to a great charity. We hope to be able to provide an insight into the vast array of opportunities in construction for local young people and help them into employment” – Andrew Burr, Managing Director, Sykes & Son.

As a Founder Member, we’re investing in our local community and ensuring children and young people are not left behind as we emerge from the pandemic.

“We are absolutely thrilled that Sykes & Son are a Founder Member of Connecting Futures. We are so grateful for all the team have done for us and our community, including transforming and refurbishing our Band Hall at no cost! The team are now based just down the road from Coram’s Fields, and we can’t wait to work more closely. We’re looking forward to expanding our relationship to support children and young people across the community we share.” – Victoria Lewis, Fundraising Manager, Coram’s Fields.
