Chiswell Street – Office Refurbishment

Sykes recently completed a Cat A refurbishment project on behalf of the City of London Corporation. The project was the Senior Building Surveyor Christopher Bone’s first project for the COL. Our site Manager Terry Bentley was very hands-on throughout the project, M&E Consultants for the project were Beveridge Associates, with whom we have a longstanding and successful working relationship. The strip-out works were undertaken by our demolition subcontractor ProStrip, with waste being removed from the building between 6am – 8am on a daily basis for 2 weeks. The mechanical works were undertaken “in-house” under the management of John Edwards, including a new ventilation system, LTHW and chilled water installations and a new BMS system. The electrical package was undertaken by our subcontractor, KPL Ltd, who are also managing the fire alarm contractor, MECE.

Our decorating division undertook a large amount of spray painting to both the existing window frames and the concrete soffits, as the ceilings and services were left exposed to match the finishes elsewhere in the building.
