Broad Street Place and Eldon Street

Sykes recently completed works at 6 Broad St Place and 15-17 Eldon St, two adjacent buildings opposite Liverpool St. station, which we have stripped-out back to a shell for the City of London. The two buildings were originally going to be carried out as separate projects but the City of London decided to combine them so we had  two sets of consultants for everything – 2 Architects, 2 M&E Consultants, 2 Health & Safety consultants and 2 Sustainability consultants, often with two different sets of expectations…

Sustainability is of the utmost importance to the City of London and there was a very high level of scrutiny on our practices, both on site and as a company. Wherever possible, waste materials were sent for re-use rather than recycling, which meant contacting a lot of companies and organisations who operate take-back schemes for various building products, such as carpet tiles, raised floor tiles, ceiling tiles, glazed partitions etc. This was a logistically complicated and challenging project but we are happy to say that it was completed to the expectations of City of London.
