On Wednesday, Sykes & Son Ltd, welcomed ‘Repair – Care’ to our workshops at Hampton Court Palace, to provide our team of craftsmen with their Level 1 Trained Contractor Course.

The programme consists of a mixture of theoretical and practical elements, with the emphasis very much on ‘hands-on’ experience. The causes of timber decay were discussed along with an overview of how to identify and assess existing damage.

Following an introduction to the range of Repair Care systems, our team had the opportunity to extensively use the tools and products needed to achieve a perfect repair.

On completion of the course our team will be recognised as Repair Care Trained contractors, with the knowledge of the product range and its applications, gaining experience in common repairs while working according to the 7 steps to a durable repair.
