As a business at the heart of London we take responsibility for adding value to the communities in which we operate. Sykes have supported a number of charitable initiatives over a large number of years including: The Sick Children’s Trust, EveryYouth, halow Project, The Lighthouse Club, Recycling Lives and many more.
Every year, Sykes selects a charity that we primarily support. For two years now, we have been proud to support the important work that Hestia does.
Hestia supports over 20,000 adults and children in crisis, including people who have endured domestic abuse, modern slavery, or mental health crisis.
They offer emergency support in specialist accommodation such as our domestic abuse refuges, modern slavery safe houses or mental health recovery houses. They help people in their own homes, or meet them in the community at our Mental Health Crisis Cafes. Across all of these settings, their mission is to help people find a life after crisis and trauma, providing them with safety, hope and purpose.
As of November 2025 we have raised over £21k including gift aid and counting for Hestia, 56 of our staff have volunteered for a collective 381 hours, with 481 service users attending our volunteer led events. Some volunteering events that our staff have taken part in include:
The Big Summer Day Out 2025
This is an annual summer event that Hestia hosts for the families supported across their domestic abuse and modern slavery services.
With 106 attendees, it was a very big event this year! We made key rings, badges, and decorated hi viz vests with the children. One of our staff was also a part of the face painting team.
Hestia Garden Revamp
Nine of our staff volunteered with Hestia to revitalise the garden at one of their mental health accommodations. With a lot of hard work, some flowers, seating and loads of lights, we were able to transform the garden into a relaxing space to soak up the sun! A big thank you to Q Scaffolding, Shade Scaffolding, Willis Architectural Ironmongery and Edmundson Electrical for making, donating garden furniture and lighting!
Hestia Eid Party 2025
We were happy to volunteer with Hestia for their Eid party! It is hosted primarily for their domestic abuse service users, and it was so much fun celebrating with everyone and assisting with the arts and crafts and face painting.

Lighthouse
Lighthouse is a charity that offers free 24/7 emotional, physical & financial wellbeing support for construction workers & their families. We have been supporting them for years.
Most recently we invited one of their members to speak at our head office on Mental Health Day 2025 about mental health in the construction industry and the support they can provide.
halow
halow supports people with learning disabilities and autism to lead fulfilling, independent lives, offering tailored assistance from occasional activities to round-the-clock care.
With a range of in-person and online services across Surrey, halow empowers individuals to shape their own futures.
halow has been hosting an annual bike ride for over a decade now, and we are proud that we have had a consistent team of staff cycling and raising money for the past x years.
In the most recent iteration of the event from Putney to Paris, Sykes raised £6010.00 for halow.
