Project underway at The Old Curiosity Shop

Sykes are currently working with Dolmen Conservation & Joinery on an external project at The Old Curiosity Shop, Holborn, London.

It is a Grade II Listed building built in 1567. It is believed to be the oldest surviving shop in London surviving the Great Fire of London in 1666, as the fire died out before it reached the Holborn area. The buildings Grade II listing is on account of its literary associations with Dickens’ Old Curiosity Shop.

The team have commenced works removing the roof and wall covering and we’ve already discovered some real hidden gems!
