Sykes confirm Coram’s Fields as our 2021 ‘Charity of the Year’

Sykes are delighted to confirm our continued support for Coram’s Fields for a further year as our 2021 ‘Charity of the Year’.

Coram’s Fields is a children’s only park and playground for children under 16 years old, and also provide services for all young people from the local community. The park is steeped in history and is noted for its well-known policy that ‘no adult can enter without a child’.

2020 has brought many challenges, not least to charities such as Coram’s Fields. With much of their income generated from hiring out football pitches and halls to local businesses, the two lockdowns have seen their income massively hit and left them with an uncertain future and in need of emergency funding.

The closure of Coram’s Fields left thousands of children unable to access essential green space, with hundreds more missing out on the vital, and often life changing support provided through their services. The pandemic continues to have a devastating effect on young people, many of whom were already at crisis point, and young people need Coram’s Fields more than ever before.

Many of our fundraising ideas and plans to support Coram’s Fields were hampered by the pandemic this year, though we were able to redecorate their Band Hall and raised over £6700 completing a hiking challenge in the Brecon Beacons.

With Sykes set to relocate our head office to Bloomsbury next month, making us near neighbours of Coram’s Fields, we’re excited to continue our support for a further year at this critical time. We look forward to finding new ways to work together to support this fantastic and historic charity.
