Sykes & Son Limited show support to the Armed Forces.

Sykes & Son are proud to announce that we have signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant!

We first offered support to ex-servicemen 103 years ago, in 1919 after the Great War when we joined what was known as the King’s National Roll.

The National Scheme for Disabled Ex-Servicemen (commonly known as the King’s Roll) was established in 1919 to encourage employers to hire a five per cent quota of disabled ex-servicemen.

The Scheme urged that ‘every employer in the United Kingdom who employs 10 or more workers should undertake to employ as many disabled ex-Service men as possible, with a minimum of 5 per cent. Employers on the roll could use a royal crest and were given preferential consideration for government contracts.

In 2022, we signed up to the Armed forces Covenant and have received the Bronze standard award in recognition of our support towards veterans who have served and who are currently serving in the armed forces.

We look forward to creating job opportunities that will attract, retain and support veterans, ensuring they are treated fairly and not disadvantaged in their day-to-day lives.

We will be creating job opportunities for veterans that will be placed on the Career Transition Partnership job board by John Cahill with the intention of placing some potential employees within our company.
